The Healthy North Coast Advisory Group was established to provide advice and direction on the development and ongoing implementation of Healthy North Coast to ensure Healthy North Coast meets the needs of the community. Meet our Advisory Group members below:

BronBronwyn Chalmers – CEO GenHealth Inc, Lead Agency for Coffs Harbour Women’s Health Centre and headspace Coffs Harbour

Bronwyn has been working in management roles in the NGO not for profit sector for over 20 years with a commitment to the provision of affordable and accessible primary health care.

She is also on the Board of Mid Coast Communities, and various committees including Coffs Coast Committee Against Domestic & Family Violence, Mid North Coast Local Health District Community Reference group, NCPHN Strategic Development & Services Design Committee and Healthy North Coast.

Jillian Adams – Acting Manager of Health Promotion, Northern NSW Local Health District

Jillian has worked in Health Promotion and Community Nutrition for 24 years after starting her career as a Dietitian in Melbourne.  She has published many papers and received state awards for population-based interventions to improve children’s nutrition and physical activity. A course in healthy planning at UNNSW has sparked her interest in working with local organisations to increase access to healthy, local food and physical activity options to make it easier for all people, regardless of socioeconomic status, to achieve good health. Jillian is the Acting Manager of Health Promotion, Northern NSW Local Health District.

Marilyn Perkins – B.Ed, M.Ed, JP, Retired teacher and small business operator

Since 1984, Marilyn has lived in Wollongbar and been involved in local and regional community activities through Ballina Council, not for profit Boards and various organisations.

Our health and well -being as we age is  of particular interest to Marilyn, and she’s sought opportunities to share information in this area. Marilyn is a volunteer for Ballina’s community radio station, 101.9 Paradise FM, where she hosts regular health segments.

Group3Roslyn Tokley – Manager Health Promotion Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD)

Roslyn commenced her commitment to prevention and advocating better health outcomes for all in particular the most disadvantaged following her undergraduate degree in 1987. She has pursued this in a range of settings and levels of Government as well as on a personal level using personal experience and challenges to add to her professional practice.  Continual learning from yesterday and today to move forward to tomorrow, using the most relevant evidence is a core ingredient to her passion for what she does.  In 2011 Roslyn completed post graduate studies in International Public Health and Development paving the way to broaden personal and professional horizons.

Group4Dr Tim Francis – GP anaesthetist 

Tim is a rural general practitioner, GP anaesthetist and medical educator working in the Nambucca Valley on the mid-north coast of NSW.  A one-time deputy chair of General Practice Registrars Australia, Tim is now a member of the National Rural Faculty Board of the RACGP.  He is also a director of North Coast NSW Medicare Local, North Coast NSW General Practice Training and Rural Vocational Training Scheme.
